The Beginner’s Guide to Email Marketing
--
Email marketing is an excellent way to reach out to your customers and build relationships with them. But with a limited number of emails you can send daily, you need a way to make the most of your email marketing and not waste time.
Every year there are naysayers who announce the death of email marketing. They say it is becoming a thing of the past even though it’s the cheapest, most convenient, and most highly effective marketing tool that exists.
If you want to build your business — any type of business — you need to start building your email list today.
How to Create an Email Campaign
Many companies want to start an email marketing campaign but do not know where to begin. This isn’t difficult, you can create a successful email campaign in as little as 10 minutes.
First, you need to decide on the goal of your email campaign. Do you want more subscribers? More leads? A higher open rate? Higher click-through rates? No matter what your answer is, you need to have a clear, measurable goal.
No matter what the goal of my email campaign is, I always use the Tease, Please, and Seize model.
The Tease
The Tease is exactly as it sounds, this is where you tease the reader just enough with your subject line so they open your email.
Your subject line should be clear and concise, and should include the main benefit of subscribing or opening the email.
Once you have created your subject line, it is time to think about what content will go into the body of your email. You can either create your own content or use one of our templates for free online newsletter creators.
The Please
This is where you pay off The Tease. The bulk of your email content must deliver on your subject line. If you promised your reader “3 Chrome Plugins That Will Increase Your Sales By 28%” you have to give them the three plugins and why they will work.
It’s best to use a story format to engage your reader. There are three parts to every story; the setup, the conflict, and the resolution.
