What Sobriety Taught Me About Business

“My name is Israel, and I am an alcoholic.”

I have uttered that sentence hundreds, if not thousands, of times in the last few years. I should also add that I am a business owner. I ran a digital marketing agency and now I run an affiliate marketing business. So, I have owned a few different businesses. However, my sobriety comes first.

And like sobriety, running a business is not for everyone.

There are many similarities between the two and I realize that my sobriety is very much intertwined with my business. And they are very similar in their structure.

Both have very specific steps to follow if you want to be successful. Many of your friends and family will try to talk you out of it. And once you get involved, you will gather a whole new set of friends and acquaintances.

Work The Steps

Both sobriety and business have proven steps that you must follow if you want to be successful. In both cases, there is no need to try to reinvent the wheel. Those that came before you have blazed a trail for you to follow.

I have spent too much time and effort trying to reinvent both and wound up worse off than when I started. Avoid my mistakes and follow the steps.
