Why The Paul Brothers Are Good For Boxing

Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather participated in a boxing exhibition last night. Perhaps you have heard about it. There were no judges and no winners but it was clear that Mayweather dominated that fight.

However, to me, winners and losers don’t matter.

What matters is most people’s reactions to this exhibition. The boxing purists are treating this as the end of the world. To them, this is just another example of how things in this world are falling apart.

To everyone else, this is a watershed moment where a YouTuber took on the boxing-industrial complex and won.

I stand in the latter group.

The Come To Jesus Moment

This spectacle was a wake-up call to the sport of boxing. If boxing promoters continue to deny fans the fights they want to see, the fans will take their attention and their money to these type of events.

Any fans, reporters, and fighters who decry the Paul brothers’ assault on boxing need to look at themselves. Logan Paul and Jake Paul are not ruining boxing, the people running boxing are ruining boxing.
